This past week flew by! We completed chapter 1 in math, nearly finished our second realistic fiction book (Mudshark), took our first health test, and the took Dibels math assessment.
This week we will be testing over math chapter 1 on Tuesday. Study guides will be sent home on Monday. We will begin chapter 2 on Wednesday.
We will be working on prefixes, suffixes, and root words in reading, along with narrative elements and comprehension. Our reading story for this week is Yang the Third and Her Impossible Family.
Our spelling list for this week will be posted later this afternoon, or it can be retrieved from spellingcity.com. We will begin writing our personal narratives this week. This is our first big writing project for the school year.
We will begin Life Science this week. Chapter 1 begins with an exploration activity and several overviews of the chapter and book. The students are excited to start this since it is a new book this year.
